As you know Bill Thomas was recently named global chairman of KPMG. This left a vacancy at his position as leader of the Americas.
KPMG selected P. Scott Ozanus to be the chairman of the Americas region of the big 4 accounting firm. He will join the global board of KPMG as part of new role.
P. Scott Ozanus made the following statements

He will also maintain his role as the deputy chairman and chief operating office of KPMG in the United States. Mr Ozanus used to lead the firm’s tax practice before being the COO and deputy chairman.
Lynn Doughtie who is the US chairman and CEO will report to P Scott Ozanus. She made the following statement

Scott was Deputy Chairman and Chief Operating officer before accepting his new role. He was in charge of KPMG’s business planning and growth initiatives.
Scott’s career has spanned more than 30 years. He has a specialized skillset in M&A, tax strategy, operational excellence and organizational strategy.
He has served large multinational clients such as private equity funds and hedge funds. He has helped KPMG with their “One firm” initiative. The “One firm” initiative is where the firm tries to better align all their lines of service when servicing a client. Instead of each line of service (audit, tax and advisory) working separately, Scott helped them work together.
Scott previously worked for Arthur Andersen where he led the firm’s tax department and was the Dallas office managing partner. He was the youngest partner in Arthur Andersen to hold both of those roles.
Scott resides in Dallas with his family. He holds a BBA degree from Texas A&M University. He holds his CPA license in Texas and Oklahoma.
