Earlier this week, on April 11, it was announced that EY was putting the brakes on their breakup plan.
Carmine Di Sibio was certain that the plan would go forward. He reiterated that the plan would move forward despite earlier warnings that it would not. Now it is confirmed that the deal, as it was previously structured, is not going to happen. The plan was previously called Project Everest. That plan had the audit firm and the consulting firm parting ways. The consulting firm would go public in the United States.
According to the firm, they still might split up but not in the way previously planned.
