EY plans to invest 75 million pounds in order to get this done. This would bring their total headcount above 10,000 consulting staff if everyone were to stick around.
There is tons of turnaround in the big 4 accounting firms though, so it remains to see if it is feasible for EY UK to double their headcount.
This is a huge investment by EY UK in the face of multiple economic tailwinds including inflation, supply chain issues, global tensions and other issues. They are willing to invest in hiring more people during this tough time.
This means that EY UK consulting likely has some huge projects already lined up.
