Are you interested in taking a sabbatical from the big 4? It used to be a weird request, but now many of the big 4 accounting firms offer the option to take a paid or unpaid sabbatical
Deloitte Sabbatical
Deloitte offers paid and unpaid sabbaticals.
- unpaid – you can take a one month unpaid sabbatical for any reason if you want to. You might be interested in taking this if you have used up all of your fmla time or are just burnt out.
- paid -you can take a partially paid sabbatical from deloitte for 3 to 6 weeks. The big 4 typically pay 20% of your normal salary during sabbaticals.
PwC Sabbatical
PwC does have a sabbatical program where you can take up to six months off for a sabbatical at 20% of your full time pay.
In addition if you are promoted to director or senior manager, you can get a reward of a 4 week sabbatical that you can schedule whenever you would like.
The firm also has unlimited sick days. The only limit on this is that you can’t take 5 consecutive days off.
KPMG Sabbatical
KPMG doesn’t provide any details regarding their sabbatical programs on their websites, but they do have it as an option on their benefits webpage in the United States and India.
